For the launch of Vaara's Pre-Fall Winter '19 collection, we partnered with Hotel Le Grand Bellevue in Gstaad, Switzerland to host a group of women who have a common passion for travel and wellness.
Known for its Michelin Star dining, unparalleled spa offerings and a range of activities fit for both winter and summer seasons, the luxury hotel's Weekend of Wellness was the perfect backdrop to debut new Perform, Rest and Enhance pieces.
Gstaad is a quaint town on the German side of Switzerland and one of the most luxurious ski destinations within Europe. Getting there couldn't be easier, with just a short flight from London to Geneva followed by a train journey through the beautiful Swiss Alps.
One stop before departing the train at Gstaad, we were met by Le Grand Bellevue's sommelier, Diogo, who served us a plate of locally-sourced strawberries and ice cold Ruinart Brut, a treat considering the surprising heat wave Switzerland was having that weekend.
When we arrived at the hotel it was time for lunch–a beautiful presentation of never-ending fresh sushi prepared by Bellevue's Sushi Master, Taki. This was the first of many delicious, healthy meals we were about to experience the rest of the weekend.
After lunch, our guests enjoyed a curation of spa treatments and massages in the hotel's 3000 square-metre Le Grand Spa, the largest in the region, which offers 17 unique wellness experience including a Himalayan Salt Grotto, Ice Fountain, and Hay Sauna using fresh Alpine hay from the local mountains.
The next morning comprised of a scenic gondola ride up the mountain with views of the town and people paragliding past. After a quick photo opportunity of our guests wearing their favourite styles from Vaara's Pre-Fall '19 collection, a local yoga instructor led us through a guided practice in the dreamy Alpine setting.
We fueled up after yoga with a picnic lunch set up by Le Grand Bellevue. Freshly squeezed juices and a healthy spread of salads and curries prepared by the chef made for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up before heading back down the mountain and back to the hotel.
With the weather being so nice, we couldn't help but take advantage of being in the beautiful outdoors. The hotel arranged for us to go on a scenic bicycle ride through the town on e-bikes, a fun experience that ended in a friendly-turned-competitive race of who could ride faster back to the hotel.
We ended the day by enjoying more of Le Grand Spa before heading to dinner at LEONARDs, where the chef prepared a delicious four-course meal.
Our final day started with an early wake-up call before we made our way to the gorgeous, manmade Lake Arnensee, located just a 25-minute drive from the hotel. Here we were greeted by a woman called Natascha who would be guiding us through paddleboard yoga. This experience was an exciting first for everyone in the group and proud to say everyone finished without falling in!
The stunning Alps are certainly not just a picturesque playground for winter sports, there is also so much to do and see in the summer. Whether you prefer mountain top yoga in the warm summer months or ski-ing in winter, one thing is for sure, is that you will leave feeling relaxed and reenergised.
